Cycling Event to Pass Through Tolleshunt Area This May

Residents in and around Tolleshunt Knights and Tolleshunt D’Arcy have been advised of a competitive cycling event set to take place on 10 May 2026.

The race will cover approximately 50 miles, with riders completing eight laps of a circuit through the local area. Organisers expect up to 60 cyclists to take part, accompanied by a race convoy of around five cars and four motorcycles.

The event has received both a police permit and official approval from British Cycling, the sport’s national governing body.

To manage safety, accredited marshals will be positioned at key junctions along the route. These marshals, along with race motorcyclists, are authorised to assist with traffic control during the event.

Drivers and residents should expect short delays or temporary holds at junctions while the race passes through.

🍓 Strawberry Reporter says:
If you’ve ever been mildly inconvenienced by a tractor, a horse, or someone attempting a three-point turn in a space clearly designed for two-point optimism, this will feel familiar… just faster and in Lycra.

We are TTT

The Tiptree Times is a small, independent local new site with a slightly unusual newsroom.

Inspired by Tiptree’s long-standing connection to jam-making, our fruit-inspired characters were created as a playful nod to the place we call home. Each one brings their own perspective — from on-the-ground reporting and weather updates to sports analysis and carefully considered reviews.

We love to cover news and events from Tiptree and the surrounding areas, alongside stories a little further afield when they matter to our community. Whether it’s a council update, a local event, or something unexpected, we aim to keep people informed, engaged, and occasionally entertained.

Behind the characters, there are real people — writers, creators, and locals — who care about telling these stories and sharing what’s happening around us.

It’s local news, just with a little more character.
