Families across Essex looking for something to do this Bank Holiday weekend might want to take note, as Hopefield Animal Sanctuary & Visitor Centre is hosting its Family Festival across its 53-acre site.
The event is being pitched as a full day out, with a mix of entertainment, play areas, and open space aimed at keeping children busy while adults attempt to sit down for at least three consecutive minutes.
Included with entry are a wide range of activities such as a giant jumping pillow, soft play bus, toddler zone, fairground rides, inflatables, crafts, live performances, and children’s entertainers. Visitors will also be able to meet hundreds of rescued animals, with access to the sanctuary trail and quieter spaces like a children’s library and wellness garden.
Food, drink, and shopping will be available on site at an additional cost, which seasoned parents will recognise as both inevitable and somehow still surprising.
The event runs across the May Bank Holiday weekend, with tickets available online via the sanctuary’s website. Proceeds from ticket sales contribute directly to the care of rescued animals at the sanctuary.
🍓 Strawberry Reporter says:
It’s got animals, it’s got inflatables, it’s got snacks you didn’t plan to buy… this is less a “day out” and more a strategic parenting decision.
