Petition Launched Over Petrol Prices in Tiptree

A petition has been launched calling for fuel prices in Tiptree to be reviewed amid concerns from some residents that petrol locally is more expensive than in nearby areas.

The petition, started by Will Calverley, has attracted more than 370 verified signatures since it was created in early February.

The campaign argues that drivers in Tiptree are paying noticeably more for fuel compared with neighbouring towns and villages.

According to the petition, the price difference affects commuters, families and local businesses who rely on their vehicles for daily travel.

The petition calls on petrol retailers including Asda and Shell to review pricing at local stations.

It states that residents want fuel prices in the village to be more in line with those seen elsewhere in the area.

Fuel prices can vary between petrol stations for a range of reasons, including supply arrangements, operating costs and local competition.

The petition remains open online for residents who wish to add their name.
