Community Spirit Shines at Windmill Green

There was a real sense of community in the air at Windmill Green on Thursday, as Tiptree residents came together for a morning of hands-on conservation work.

Led by the The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), volunteers spent time mulching the young tree whips planted last year – a small but important job that will help them grow strong in the months ahead.

People dropped in throughout the morning, some staying for a quick helping hand, others settling in for longer. There was no pressure, no expectations – just a shared willingness to get involved, chat, and do something positive for the village.

Moments like this are a quiet reminder of what makes Tiptree special. Not big events or grand gestures, but simple acts of people showing up, getting stuck in, and caring about the place they call home.
