Tiptree youth hub discussions continue as sub-committee reviews sites and funding

Discussions around a potential youth hub in Tiptree are ongoing, following a recent meeting of the Parish Council’s Community Youth Hub Sub-Committee.

The sub-committee met on Wednesday 5 March 2026 at Tiptree Community Centre, with councillors, the Parish Clerk, and three members of the public in attendance.

Wider representation added

During the meeting, the committee agreed to co-opt additional members from local youth organisations.

Representatives connected to the Girl Guides, KYDs and TYPO were approved to join the sub-committee. The move was agreed unanimously and is intended to bring input from groups involved in youth activities in the village.

Funding overview received

The sub-committee received a financial overview of available funding, including Section 106 contributions and other monies available to support the project.

No decisions were recorded in relation to how funding will be allocated at this stage.

Potential locations discussed

Councillors reviewed a report following a site meeting at Grove Road playing field, presented by members of the committee.

The possibility of using land at Cleghorns on Newbridge Road was also discussed.

No decisions were made regarding either location.

Meeting to be arranged with Wilkins & Sons

The sub-committee agreed that the Parish Clerk will arrange a meeting with representatives from Wilkins & Sons.

The minutes do not include further detail on the purpose of this meeting.

Facilities still under consideration

Requests from youth organisations regarding potential facilities were discussed during the meeting.

No decisions were made, and the details of what a future youth hub may include remain under consideration.
